MISSION STATEMENT

                 The Shelby County Office of Preparedness mission provides administrative assistance to address the unique planning, equipment,     

                 training, and exercise needs of Shelby County and the UASI region. The Office of Preparedness is to assist the partnering jurisdictions

                 in building an enhanced and sustainable capacity to prevent, protect, respond to and recover from all-hazards threats. These threats

                 and eventualities can be natural or man-made. The Office of Preparedness has a two-fold mission: Grants Administration and

                 Program Administration.  Within the scope of this mission, the Office of Preparedness integrates into the comprehensive public

                 safety environment within Shelby County and the UASI Region.

The Shelby County, TN office of Preparedness is made up of Homeland Security (HLS), 

Memphis Shelby County Emergency Management Agency (EMA), Memphis-TN,  

UASI Homeland Security Grant Administration,

 U. S. Dept. of Homeland Security Memphis-TN Urban Area Security Initiative - UASI

including Shelby County-TN, Tipton County-TN, Fayette County-TN, Lauderdale County-TN,

Crittenden County-AR,

  and Desoto County-MS.
